Odd Future Debut At No. 5, Tha Carter IV Drops Out Of Top 50

After 30 consecutive weeks on The Billboard 200, Tha Carter IV has finally fallen out of the top 50, two weeks removed from an announced partnership with Mountain Dew that saw Weezy surge back to the top 10. With 8,000 units moved this week, Wayne slid down to No. 52 overall.

The YMCMB slump didn’t end there, with Drake and Tyga being usurped by the arrival of Odd Future and Diggy Simmons as the No. 1 and 2 selling Hip-Hop albums on the Billboard 200. Drake dropped 11 spots moving to No. 18 overall, while Tyga’s falloff was less drastic, selling 16,000 albums to last week's 19K.

Tyler & Co.’s The Odd Future Tape Vol. 2 sold 40,000 albums in it’s first week on the charts, landing at No. 5 overall and taking Drizzy’s place as the number one Hip-Hop album. Distributed through their own Odd Future Records, it is the strongest debut for the eccentric group since founding their own imprint under Sony’s RED distribution.

Gracing the Billboard 200 for the first time, Diggy Simmons’s studio debut Unexpected Arrival arrived at No. 13 overall, selling just under 21,000. Another chart rookie, Machine Gun Kelly, found himself at spot No. 46 with his 5 track EP entitled Half Naked & Almost Famous.

Finally, Jay-Z and Kanye West’s Watch The Throne and Young Jeezy’s TM103 remain top 50 fixtures, with Jay – Z and Kanye bumping up 10 spots from last week to No. 36 overall and Jeezy sliding down 6 spots to No. 30.
