The ink is dry and the deal is done for burgeoning Brooklyn MC, Mr. Muthafuckin' eXquire.

According to Billboard, the rapper has officially signed a deal with Universal Republic. While the news was officially announced earlier Thursday (March 15), eXquire's new label home already listed him on the artists' page of their website last month.  Though it was taken down immediately after XXLMag.com reached out for a confirmation, the rapper's camp avoided to speak on the matter.

The signing comes after the Brooklyn rapper had been steadily building his buzz after the release of last year's well-received, Lost In Translation mixtape, which sparked the breakout records "Huzzah" and "Lou Ferigno's Mad". Since then eXquire has been garnering praise all throughout, even getting comparisons to The Notorious B.I.G. as per current XXL Freshman Danny Brown.

“I get Biggie, I get [MF] Doom, I get Method Man, I get all that shit, ya know what I mean?” the Crown Heights, Brooklyn rapper responded to XXLMag.com during a recent interview about the comparison. “It’s ill because none of those people even sound alike. So, it’s kind of ill. What that basically says to me is niggas can’t peg me, ya know what I mean? So, they just try to throw whatever they can to compare me to something. They want to grasp it.”
