Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter IV Drops 22 Spots, Tech N9NE Enters at No. 15
Just like last week, Lil Wayne is the talk of the charts this week.
Last Wednesday, Lil Wayne's Tha Carter IV album drastically jumped from No. 37 to No. 8, presumably due to his highly-publicized Mountain Dew DEWeezy partnership. But this week, that same album drops 22 spots to No. 30. The set sold 35,900 copies the past seven days, bringing his total to 2,085,300.
On the flip side, retaining his No. 7 spot, Drake’s Take Care sold 35,000 copies this past week, remaining the number one selling Hip-Hop album on the Billboard Top 200 with a final sum of 1,618,100. Drizzy’s labelmate, Tyga rounds off at 140.700 with an additional sold 20,000 the past week, moving up two spots to No. 12, and solidifying YMCMB’s stranglehold on the hip hop charts.
Elsewhere on the chart, Tech N9NE enters this week with his independently-distributed Klusterfuck project, landing him the No. 15 spot. The six track EP, released under Tech’s Strange Music indie label, sold just under 17K.
Additionally, Young Jeezy’s TM103 continues to fare well, moving up one spot to No. 24, and selling 14,000 in it’s 13th week on the Top 200 for a total of 521,000. Additionally, Jay-Z and Kanye land at No. 46, remaining in the top 50 despite dropping 10 spots from last week. An extra 10,000 pushed this week brings their numbers up to 1,382,700.
Lastly, Kid Cudi and Dot da Genius’s WZRD has fallen fast since debuting at #3 overall just two weeks ago. After last week’s drop to No. 34, the Cleveland duo’s sales continue to slide, moving just under 5,000 copies this week (81,223 overall) and falling to the No. 105 spot.—XXL Staff
