Fat Joe isn’t a stranger to graffiti. He once revealed to DJ Vick One that he had been doing graff work for over 20 years and was thrown out of 15 schools as a youth in the Bronx because of it.

But when Lil Wayne called him on Wednesday (Feb. 29), Joey Crack never thought it would be to tag up the fresh white walls in Weezy’s Miami mansion. Wayne asked the rap vet to tag up a wall in his house with the word “Crack” in bright red spray paint. With a bit of hesitation, Joe obliged.

“I live down the block, across the street from him and yesterday, the nigga called me up and said, ‘Please, Joe, it would be an honor if you do a TS Joey Crack piece in my house,’” Joe told XXLMag.com. “Never in my life [have I done graffiti in someone’s house]. I tried to talk him out of it like, ‘Wayne, forreal, you have a gazillion dollar mansion…please don’t do this.’ He was like, ‘Nah, Crack, I got a spot right there for you.’ I was like, ‘Wayne…why?’ He said, ‘Crack, we need it.’”

Joe shook the graff cans up and went to work. The end product: the word ‘Crack’ written across the formerly plain wall, topped by tagged signatures of Joe and manager Macho. Prior to Wednesday’s impromptu tag session, though, Joe hadn’t bombed out in a while.

“I was a little rusty,” he said of his graff work. “I can’t front, I was rusty, but it was almost like riding a bike…once you’re half way through, it’s like, ‘Oh shit, I got this.’ That shit came out right, though. I’m proud of that shit.’

According to Joe, the room he blasted with spray paint will be used for skateboarding.

“He got ramps on his ceiling and all that shit,” Joe said. “Yeah, he’s doing that to the highest level. I was there and he was building a fucking skateboard. He was like, ‘Yo Crack, you got to put this here.’ He found a new love, something he loves to do and that’s dope. He’s living and drinking and eating the skateboarding shit.”

In related news, Fat Joe’s single, “Another Round,” continues to circulate on radio and on the Internet. Joe also told XXLMag.com that he has a new record with Trey Songz and Miguel called, “So Sophisticated,” that should be dropping “soon.” —Mark Lelinwalla
