- Cam'ron 620x400Cam'ron's Most Random CollaborationsIf there’s a perfect phrase to describe Harlem rapper Cam’ron, it would be expect the unexpected. While he’s known for arguably being hip-hop’s most flamboyant star, Cam’ron is also notorious for his left-field collaborations. Just yesterday (February 1), a track titled "Dig That" surfaced which featured the Harlem MC rapping alongside 2011 <i>XXL</i> Freshman, Mac Miller. But if you think that's odd, you're not a Cam connoisseur like <i>XXL</i>. Take a look back at Cam's most bizarre collaborations below.—<em>XXL Staff</em> (@xxlstaff)
- Usher<strong>Usher</strong><object width="610" height="30"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/6t74We2lXis?version=3&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/6t74We2lXis?version=3&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="610" height="30" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>This right here, is more surprising now than it was back then. On his debut album, <em>Confessions of Fire</em> Killa Cam hooked up with the R&B star for the radio-friendly “Feels Good.” While the record was definitely enjoyable then, it's since become something that <i>XXL</i> can’t believe actually happened.
- Mariah Carey<strong>Mariah Carey</strong><object width="610" height="30"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/ExC7J-WrScY?version=3&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/ExC7J-WrScY?version=3&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="610" height="30" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>MiMi and Killa Cam had everyone in shock when he collaborated with Mariah for her 2003 single, “Boy (I Need You).” Though the track proved he was a force to be reckoned with at the time, it also added to his list of surprise cameos on record.
- Destiny's Child<strong>Destiny’s Child</strong><object width="610" height="30"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/2dqF_6H2ou8?version=3&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/2dqF_6H2ou8?version=3&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="610" height="30" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>Still can’t believe this one exists? Same here. The popular female R&B group was featured on Cam’s 2000 sophomore release, <em>S.D.E.</em>. Fresh off their breakthrough LP in 1999’s <em>The Writing’s on the Wall</em>, the ladies would join the Harlemite on “Do It Again,” which would serve as probably his most unexpected collaboration yet. Cam would later boast about the collabo on a diss track aimed at Hov titled “You Gotta Love It” (“Beyoncé fiancé, check my 2nd LP/I might bring it back, that's your girl, that's your world/Had the thing, fucking singing bout slinging crack...").
- KiD CuDi<strong>Kid Cudi</strong><object width="610" height="30"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/0B7rdwoLdpg?version=3&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/0B7rdwoLdpg?version=3&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="610" height="30" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>Kid Cudi is in a lane of his own and when he and Cam’ron collaborated in 2009 for <em>Boss of All Bosses 2.5</em>’s “Ur Killin Me” the pairing immediately turned heads. While fellow Dipset member, Jim Jones, already worked with the Cleveland native on 2008’s “Day N Night (Remix),” no one saw Cam’s collabo with Cudi coming.
- Will Smith<strong>Will Smith</strong><object width="610" height="30"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/d_M1TRMwzCA?version=3&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/d_M1TRMwzCA?version=3&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="610" height="30" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>Remember this? Will Smith and Killa Cam getting jiggy with it? [Insert Cam’ron’s signature “No Homo” phrase here] As random, as random could get these two collaborated for the official remix to 1998’s Grammy Award-winning single “Getting’ Jiggy Wit It.”
