Now that her music career is taking off, Azealia Banks has no plans on slowing down. Following her signing with Universal Music Group in January, Banks has now announced her debut album, Broke With Expensive Taste, will be released in September.

“The theme is a young girl trying to find it,” Banks told Nylon magazine about the set. "The young girl trying to make it. That girl who's at the end of her childhood trying to get a job and make some money. You know? She needs to get what she can get. She needs to go out there and show people she knows how to work for it.”

The femcee, who spends a great deal of time in Europe, told XXL earlier this month that the album will not consist of just rap.

“It’s going to be a lot of different styles,” Azealia said. “There’s going to be a big rave aesthetic to it. One long party. There will definitely be some hip-hop on it, but it will be Euro influenced.”

The Harlem native originally signed with XL Recordings at the age of 17 before being dropped from the label and signing a new deal with Universal this year. The 20-year-old made many, including Kanye West, take notice of her musicality once again after dropping “212” last year. Also very involved in the fashion world, Banks has been designated by Karl Lagerfield as the face of his Net-a-Porter collection and is often praised by fashionistas but remains focused on the task at hand.

“I'm just trying to stay focused and get my album done,” Azealia expressed to Nylon. “You know? I'm keeping my mind off of it.” —Christopher Minaya
