The chatter was hard to miss, and Jay-Z and and Beyoncé weren't oblivious to it.

Following the birth of Hov and Bey's first child, Blue Ivy Carter, over the weekend, Tweets, tabloids and everyone in between had something to say. Now the two stars have said some things of their own, as they have released a statement on B's official site thanking their fans and others for the well wishes, and clearing up a few details of the birth. Hello Hello Baby Blue!

We are happy to announce the arrival of our beautiful daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, born on Saturday, January 7, 2012.

Her birth was emotional and extremely peaceful, we are in heaven.

She was delivered naturally at a healthy 7 lbs and it was the best experience of both of our lives.

We are thankful to everyone for all your prayers, well wishes, love and support.

In related news, a Lenox Hill Hospital representative stated today that the maternity wing/floor was never closed off to the public and that The Carters did not pay $1.3 million to do so.

"The suggestion that the couple paid $1.3 million to rent an entire maternity floor is simply not true," the rep said, according to a USA Today report. "The family is housed in an executive suite at the hospital and is being billed the standard rate for those accommodations.

"The family does have its own security detail on site," the rep continued. "However, the hospital has been and continues to be in control of managing all security at the facility. We have made every effort to ensure minimal disruption to other families experiencing the births of their own children over the past three days."

Earlier today, Jiggaman released the song "Glory," an ode to his infant daughter. On it, he both speaks candidly and in his characteristically slick mode, rapping lines like, “Last time the miscarriage was so tragic/We was afraid you’d disappear/But nah baby you magic,” an allusion to their past experiences, as well as, “You’re a child of destiny/You're the child of my destiny/You're my child with the child from Destiny’s child/That’s a hell of recipe!”

As previously reported, the two welcomed their first child on Sunday morning in New York, and were said to have paid $1.3 million to have the entire fourth floor to themselves of the hospital to themselves. —Adam Fleischer
