B.G. has plead guilty to gun charges and could face up to 40 years in prison.

The Times-Picayune of New Orleans reports that the rapper, real name Christopher Dorsey, plead guilty of being a felon in possession of a firearm and witness tampering before U.S. District Court Judge Ginger Berrigan yesterday. Prosecutors made it clear that there is no plea agreement or deal in place, meaning B.G. could face up to 40 years in prison. The former Cash Money soldier will be sentenced on March 14.

The indictment and subsequent guilty plea stems from a November 2009 traffic stop, in which police confiscated guns that belonged to B.G. in the vehicle he was in. The Times-Picayune reports that in court yesterday, he not only plead guilty to possession of the firearms, but he acknowledged that he conspired with a friend to get an associate in the car to sign an affidavit falsely claiming ownership of them.

Making matters tougher, Federal prosecutors connected the former Hot Boy to some of New Orleans’ most infamous alleged murderers in court documents. —Jakinder Singh
