Queen Latifah will hit the small screen yet again.

The New Jersey rapper is trying her hand at television hosting once again, according to Perez Hilton, as she has been tapped by Sony Pictures Television to host her own talk show.

Her first attempt, 1999's The Queen Latifah Show, only lasted two seasons. But this time around she has the backing of co-producers Will and Jada Smith, Overbrook Entertainment's James Lassiter and Miguel Melendez as well as her own Flavor Unit company alongside longtime business partner Shakim Compere, which will possibly mean a longer-lasting run.

While other talk shows are in the works for 2012, including some hosted by Katie Couric, Steve Harvey, Ricki Lake and Bethenny Frankel, among others, Latifah's show is scheduled to premiere in the fall of 2013.

Flavor Unit made some noise this year with scripted series with the launch of two shows, Let’s Stay Together on BET and Single Ladies on VH1, both of which have been renewed for a second season. Coming up is also Warner Bros’ Joyful Noise starring Queen Latifah and Dolly Parton.—Gina Montana
