Happy Birthday, Boosie Badazz!

Today, Nov. 14, is the 36th birthday of Baton Rouge, La. rapper, Boosie Badazz, formerly known as Lil Boosie.

Most are familiar to his 2007 hit, "Wipe Me Down," but the Louisiana-born MC has been a staple in Southern hip-hop for more than 20 years. Boosie dropped his own independent album Youngest of Da Camp in 2000, and through working with names like Webbie and Pimp C, Boosie started to make a name for himself in rap in 2003.

Unfortunately, Boosie's legal drama caught up with him soon after he started finding mainstream success. In 2011, Boosie was sentenced to eight years in prison after pleading guilty to drug and gun charges. Luckily, while Boosie was in the pen, his lawyers were able to argue that the drug ring he was caught up in was a set up. He was released on March 5, 2014 for good behavior.

When Boosie got out, he officially changed his name to Boosie Badazz from Lil Boosie. XXL interviewed with him for the Spring 2015 issue. That same year, proving he was back and better than ever, Boosie dropped his sixth studio album, Touch Down 2 Cause Hell. In December 2017, Boosie dropped off his BooPac album.
