A crew of hip-hop pioneers put down their microphones and picked up plates of chicken and fish for a good cause Wednesday in a Harlem restaurant owned by rap legend Doug E. Fresh.

Nearly a dozen rap legends became waiters and waitresses for a day at Doug E.'s Chicken and Waffles on Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Blvd. near W. 132nd St., to serve customers in an effort to raise money for the American Cancer Society.
