Before signing with Lil Wayne and becoming a platinum-selling artist, Nicki Minaj tells Cosmopolitan magazine, she contemplated suicide.

While to some Ms. Minaj may seem like an overnight success, the Queens-bred superstar endured a long road before hitting it big.

"It was just one dead end after another,” she told Cosmo in their new issue. “At one point, I was, like, 'What would happen if I just didn't wake up?' That's how I felt. Like, 'Maybe I should just take my life?'"

Now, with over No. 1 album and a handful of singles that made it all the way to the Top 5 on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, as well as an opening slot on last summer’s Britney Spears tour, it’s no doubt that Minaj is on her way to a successful career. In fact she already has it planned out.

"I will have put out five albums and will have an Oscar and Grammys,” she predicted. “My whole life is about being Nicki Minaj now. It's a never-ending saga.”
