Diddy took to Twitter late last night to apologize for the profanity-laced rant he delivered Sunday night (October 2) at the after party for the 2011 BET Hip How Awards that he co-hosted with T.I. present.

“I'm a child [of] God and I should be better no matter what someone says to me,” Diddy began tweeting into the wee hours. “I'm sorry for the ignorant way I represented myself and us. To all my childen of God ... I have backslid and regressed. Forgive me for my ignorance. Pray for me pls. I know better and I am better. I have a responsibility that I promise I will live up to. And I'm more disappointed in myself than you know. I will humble myself and learn.

“Bottom line is I'm sorry to all!” he continued. “Pls find it in your heart to accept my apology. I will do better and be Greater And a source of positivity! Thank yall for listening. Thank you. Real talk. Peace. And yes this has been a 3am emotional real twitter rant! But its my real feelings. And yes #It hurts when I Breathe!!! Lol #allLUV :) (sic).”

This comes after Sunday night at Atlanta nightclub Compound, where an onstage Diddy scolded a club patron for allegedly drinking another brand of Vodka other than his own Ciroc.

“It’s Ciroc Boys in this bitch!” Diddy yelled down toward the man. “What you gonna do, nigga? What you gonna do, bitch?” [Watch above]

That left T.I. to grab a microphone and bark back at Diddy.

“Puff, you got too much muthafuckin’ money for that shit, nigga,” Tip yelled onstage in Diddy’s direction. “Let them niggas drink what the fuck they wanna drink.”

In an appearance on Atlanta’s Wild 105.7 dial Tuesday morning, T.I. additionally addressed the situation.

“It wasn’t a point of me trying to check Diddy,” Tip said. “I was trying to defuse the situation to keep it from becoming something that could have caused me a potential problem by even just being there. My circumstances are different than Diddy and whoever Diddy was talking to. My opinion I stated, but at the same time I stated [it] out of love for Diddy, not trying to check him, belittle him or disrespect him. Me and him, we go too far back. I value our relationship too much to be grandstanding.” —Mark Lelinwalla
