Beyoncé’s Confusing ‘Countdown’ Lyric Revealed

Nobody paints a picture like Beyoncé, through her lyrics Bey tells stories of love and heartbreak all with a street-bred swagger. More than an R&B or pop artist, Queen B frequently drops hip-hop slang in her music and as the clock ticks towards the Diva’s “Countdown” video premier at 7:56 p.m. ET on MTV I have to admit that one of the song’s lines has flown over my head. I’ve been racking my brain, asking my Twitter followers and searching online lyric sites trying to find the answer.

During the track’s bridge I hear Beyoncé singing “Me and my boo in my boof coupe ridin’,” but then that begs the question: What the heck is a “boof coupe?” At first I figured it was some type of expensive car way out of my tax bracket, so I deferred to my Twitter followers. Read more...
