Game is back in hot water with the law. Last Friday (August 12) a tweet was sent out from the West Coast rapper’s Twitter account looking for interns, followed by a phone number to call to apply. Problem was, the phone number was to the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department.

After said tweet was posted, authorities say they were inundated with phone calls from an assortment of Game’s 580,000 Twitter followers, looking for work and clogging up the line for people trying to report crimes.

A short investigation led deputies to Game’s tweet, prompting officers to hit up the social networking site and urge the Doctor’s Advocate to take down their number.

“@TheGame Plz delete Tweet off UR wall of phone# that begins with 310,” Sheriff’s Captain Mike Parker wrote on Friday. “This is compromising public safety. Hi # calls (sic).”

“@TheGame U Tweeted phone# of #LASD #Compton Sheriff & said 2 call 4 internship when there is none,” he wrote the following day. “Lg.vol.calls R compromising publicsafety (sic).”

Around midnight on Friday, the Compton native erased the prank tweet, and the following day posted this comment on Twitter: “Yall can track a tweet down but cant solve murders. Dat was an accident but maybe now yall can actually do yall job !!!! #iSpeak4ThePeople (sic).”

Acording to TMZ, the LASD is deliberating whether to file charges against Game for delaying or obstructing a peace officer in the performance of their duties.

Meanwhile Game tells the gossip site, unbeknownst to him, that his friend sent out the tweet, and that person didn’t realize the number was for the LASD.

He also claims he didn’t know that Captain Parker was trying to reach him. "They don't have my number and I'm not following the police," he said.

His thoughts on possibly getting charged with a crime, "Casey Anthony can get away with murder and The Game goes to jail for tweeting. God bless America."
