Delusions of Grandeur

Last week, touched on Lil Mama’s appearance on New York radio station Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club morning show. Needless to say the always controversial host Charlemagne Tha God pulled no punches during the interview, which resulted in the Brooklyn femcee breaking down in tears during her interview. Though The Breakfast Club showed no mercy, Mama came off rather delusional several times when answering questions. In one instance, Charlemagne asked the self-proclaimed “Voice of the Young People” about crashing the stage during Jay-Z and Alicia Keys’ VMA performance, to which she answered, “In my day, in my era Ralph McDaniels, just being 5 and being at his block parties, you could go on stage…you’ll see that energy and then it’ll be received so, maybe my love was misconcepted.” Riiiight.

Lil Mama may be in denial of her delusion, but others MCs— ranging from humble to cocky— are a bit more honest about their egos. See where your favorite rappers fit in XXL‘s Delusions of Grandeur. Tuck ya delusions in…
