Look at Chris Brown now. The Virginia singer will be releasing a new hip-hop mixtape on which he only will showcase his rapping talents.

Earlier today (July 20) CB announced the mixtape title via Twitter. “New(chris brown) hip hop mixtape called 'Boy In Detention' coming soon! (sic).” he tweeted. “And people... Yes I'm a singer so if this mixtape doesn't reach your quota for hip hop! Simply don't listen..(sic).”

The Fame singer recently released a couple “Real Hip Hop Shit” freestyles, the latest being “Real Hip Hop Shit #3” produced by North Carolina's own 9th Wonder. He raps, “Look, let me go in, then I count more ends/My tints 11, and your friends in my Benz/The engine on that Viper 220/And it's green in the trunk, but that's new money.

This is the first time Brown will release a mixtape dedicated to rap, though his past mixtapes featured some of his freestyles and raps, especially his Fan of a Fan joint mixtape with Tyga. Breezy also rapped alongside Busta Rhymes and Lil Wayne on his hit single, “Look at Me Now,” as well as on Jae Millz’s “Green Goblin.”

As of press time, no word yet on collaborations or when Boy in Detention is scheduled for release.—Rachelle Jean-Louis
