Convict Admits to Robbing Tupac on Orders By James Rosemond

Dexter Issac admits to being involved in the shooting of Tupac at Quad Studios in 1994…

[Editor's Note: this story has been changed since it's original posting.]

After years of speculation, Dexter Issac, a convict and former associate of Czar Entertainment CEO James “Jimmy Henchman” Rosemond, has come forward and admitted to robbing rap legend Tupac Shakur in 1994 under the orders of Rosemond.

In a statement to allhiphop.com, Issac—who is currently serving a life sentence in prison for murder and robbery convictions—confessed to robbing Shakur on November 30, 1994 at Quad Studios for $2,500 given to him by Rosemond.

“In 1994, James Rosemond hired me to rob [Tupac] Shakur at the Quad Studio,” Issac wrote. “He gave me $2,500 plus all the jewelry I took, except for one ring which he wanted for himself.”

“I want to apologize to his family [Tupac Shakur] and for the mistake I did for that sucker [Jimmy Henchman],” he continued. “I am trying to clean it up to give [Tupac and Biggie's] mothers some closure.”

As hip-hop fans know, Tupac was reportedly shot five times on the night of November 30. It is unclear what Issac’s exact involvement in the incident was. The Notorious B.I.G. was also in the studio at the time of ’Pac’s attack, and Shakur believed that he had something to do with the attack, which resulted in a deadly feud between the two MCs.

This isn’t the first time Rosemond’s name has come up in the attack. Shakur fingered Rosemond on his song “Against All Odds” “And did I mention/Promised a payback, Jimmy Henchman/In due time/I knew you bitch niggas was listening/The world is mine/Set me up/Wet me up/Niggas stuck me up/Heard the guns bust/But you tricks never shut me up.

As previously reported, Rosemond is currently on the run following a federal arrest warrant for his alleged involvement in a cocaine distribution ring. In a statement issued to XXLMag.com on May 23, 2011 Rosemond called Issac an informant that was helping the government in their case against him. “If the government is relying on informants like Winston ‘Winnie’ Harris, a convicted drug dealer and Jamaican deportee, who came to me and motioned via hand signal that he was forced to wear a wire and begged me to skip town or Dexter Isaac who is serving life in prison plus 30 years then I’m sure I will not be offered a fair trial. Where’s the real proof that I have committed these crimes? I just want my fair trial and to not be railroaded as they so eagerly want to do.”

Issac said these false allegations by Rosemond motivated him to come forward. He also said, that since the statute of limitations on the crime is up, he feels comfortable admitting his wrongdoing. [Editor's Note: the truth of this statement may not be entirely true. The NYPD is currently investigating Issac's confession.]

Tupac would have turned 40 years old tomorrow, June 16.

Jimmy had nothing to do with hiring anyone. Him and Tupac were greats friends yes they didn’t agree all the time but there was pure love and respect between them! Don’t believe any of the bullshit people say on here or what you read in these articles they are just trying to hype it up for hits on their site. They don’t know the truth~! Issac just wants some attention and to cut a deal to shorten his life sentence. I would do the same thing so he’s using this easiest person the police want to nail right now.. Come on now.. Use your brains! please with that noise.. get out of here..KMT

Happy bday and rest in peace 2 one of the greatest ever.

who the devil is Jimmy Henchman Rosemond, to begin with? how in the world did he get involved in rap, what was the beef with tupac? and/or Biggie?

    • TheKid  | June 16, 2011 11:51 am

You are on xxlmag.com , reading a tupac article, yet you have no idea what the problem between pac/biggie/suge/puffy. You is crazy

    • zayzkidd  | June 16, 2011 1:14 pm

The way I understand it, Rosemond was down with Bad Boy, so he couldn’ve had anything to do with Biggie.

So, Jimmy is still on the run from the feds? Really? Dude must have long money because in order to run from the feds you have to have some deep resources son. When dude gets caught, and he will….he will have to answer for alot and he will end getting no bail (flight risk) sit in the pen for 2 years before his case even goes to trial, then he will be convicted of something, do 10-15 yrs on some loophole charge and that will be that for him….

    • Swisha HAUWSE BAWSE  | June 16, 2011 2:42 pm

yeah i dunno about 10-15..more like 8-9 with good behaviour.
the only real problem he faces is when he gets caught, which prison will he be put in? im sure theres a price on him from someone out there.

    • Big Daddy Kane  | June 22, 2011 9:17 am

Like I said, HE WILL GET CAUGHT and he DID! They always do…..Dude is hit, he won’t see concrete till 2048.
