Last night (May 19), B.o.B was among the performers during Washington, DC radio station 95.5 FM WPGC's annual Birthday Bash at the 9:30 club. Following the show, rumors spread on Twitter and several gossip sites accusing the Atlanta artist of shutting down a performance from hometown hero and fellow 2009 XXL Freshman, Wale. XXLMag.com spoke with Bobby Ray’s longtime manager, Brian “B” Rich, to set the record straight.

According to B. Rich, the gossip started after WPGC radio personality Sunni tweeted that Bob would not get on stage if Wale was in the building. Rich said the Tweet was completely uninformed. “As a manager I didn’t want Bob to go on after Wale in his hometown at the birthday bash,” he told XXL. “There’s no beef, that’s our nigga, we wanted to bring him out during our set. Bob has no idea what’s going on. He don’t mind going on after or before anybody, this is a decision I made [as a manager].”

Instead, Wale ended up making an appearance, earlier in the night, during go-go band Rare Essence’s set, since he had another concert to perform at, according to Rich. —Jesse Gissen
