New Orleans rapper B.G. was indicted yesterday (May 19) on federal gun and obstruction charges dating back to a 2009 arrest.

According to The Times-Picayune, the office of U.S. Attorney Jim Letten announced the charges, saying that the former Hot Boys member faces a three-count indictment due to prior arrests.

In 2009, B. Gizzle was pulled over and arrested for possessing three weapons with loaded magazines and two extended clips. After running a weapons check, police found that two of the three guns had previously been stolen. Federal prosecutors claim that B.G. then conspired with two others to get a 19-year-old associate named Demounde Pollard to claim ownership of the guns, forcing him to sign a false affidavit that cleared the rapper's name.

B.G., already a felon, faces up to 10 years in prison if he is convicted. —Carter Maness
