Jim Jones May Go to Trial for Driving Charge

Yesterday (April 26), Jim Jones was arraigned for driving with a suspended license in New York City.

In an effort to have charges reduced, the Harlem native turned down a plea deal which may result in him being headed to trial for driving his Bentley on a minor suspended license charge.

“I’m trying to stay out of this place,” the Dipset Capo told New York's Daily News.

As XXLMag.com previous reported, the rapper’s license was suspended for unpaid tickets when he was pulled over on March 30. Marianne Bertuna, Jones’ lawyer, maintains that her client was unaware of his suspended license and is turning down the deal in an effort to get the charge reduced to a violation.

Prior, the Dipset Capo copped to a misdemeanor assault charge stemming from an incident in a Louis Vuitton store in 2009, after he punched a friend of R&B crooner Ne-Yo. —Nicole LoPresti
