The Boyz Club: More Rappers That Should Name Their Groups After Cars

Since the beginning of time, cars and rappers have been linked. These days, though, that relationship has in many cases been elevated to new levels. Just last week, Gucci Mane and Waka Flocka announced that they'd be forming and releasing a project within the next few months through 1017 Brick Squad Records. They named the group The Ferrari Boys, after what is (presumably) one of their favorite whips. The announcement came only a few months after Diddy and Rick Ross joined forces to create Bugatti Boyz.

Wiz Khalifa and Curren$y
Kestrel Boys
Two of rap’s most beloved weed heads unite to create this faction paying homage to the world’s first car made of hemp, set to be released in 2012. That’s right. The body of this 4-passenger electric car is created with hemp plastic. The Kestrel is only expected to reach 55 mph, but that shouldn’t be a problem for these two, as they light some green and ride slow.

Jay-Z and 50 Cent
Koenigsegg Trevita Boyz
In 2010, this was the most expensive car in the world, set at a cool $2.21 million price point, according to Forbes. There’s no better team than 50 and Jay—two of the game’s biggest earners—to team up and use the Swedish car as their name. In line with the name, the project is about fast cars, making money and ducking haters.

Kanye West and Kid Cudi
DeLorean Boyz
Yeezy and Cudder channel this 1980s sports car in order to form this subset of G.O.O.D. Music. Rapping over spaced-out and futuristic beats, these two again prove that they're pushing the envelope musically. Y’all are scared of the future, while they hop in the DeLorean.

Joe Budden and Joell Ortiz
Honda Boyz
One half of Slaughterhouse form their own collective and again focus on substance over style. Taking their name from part of Joell’s “Nissan, Honda, Chevy” release, Budden and Ortiz aren’t concerned with being flashy here. It's not that they couldn't be, they just don't want you to get distracted. Once again, it’s about lyrics for these two.

Mos Def, Talib Kweli and Lupe Fiasco
Prius Boys
Sometimes classified as “conscious” or “backpack” rappers, these three play into the rep by naming their group after the Toyota Hybrid. Their release schools listeners on other energy efficient ways of living including buying special refrigerators and air conditioners and, of course, shutting off lights when they're not being used.

Lloyd Banks and Juelz Santana
Benz Boyz
Trying to recreate the momentum and success of their 2010 smash, LB and Juelz name their collective after the song. After much deliberation, they decide that they like the Mercedes Benz best. The album finds a welcomed balance between club bangers and New York City street records.

Bun B, Slim Thug, Chamillionaire, Paul Wall, Mike Jones, Lil Flip and Z-Ro
Impala Boyz
Some of Texas's finest link up for this ode to the low riding Chevy. The music features plenty of references to candy paint, wood grain and fine women, and is often released chopped and screwed.
