Def Jam executive and former G-Unit Records president Sha Money XL will be sharing his journey to the top with students at inner-city schools, by spending time with them in the studio at the audio engineering school SAE Institute in New York City.

The event will take place this Thursday, March 24th from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. in Herald Square.

Musically inclined students between the ages of 11-15 will get to spend hands-on time in the studio with Sha as he will field a Q&A session.

Sha who currently is the senior vice president of A&R at Island Def Jam has been in the record business for years and is credited with discovering 50 cent.

Recently he signed 2011 XXL Freshman Big K.R.I.T. and continues to produce and receive credits on numerous artists’ songs.  In the past this had included names such as Snoop Dogg, Paul Wall and Juvenile, among others. —Michael Naclerio
