A week before it’s release Lupe Fiasco’s upcoming album Lasers leaked online and the Chicago MC took to Twitter to address his fans on their reactions to the music.

“I never thought lasers would inspire so much negativity,” he wrote on his account this afternoon (March 1). “Reading the comments and reactions is crushing.”

"To all the Lupe fans who protested and petitioned you did a GREAT thing,” he added, speaking on his fans letters and actual protest that helped make his label actualy out out the disc. “Don't let people belittle what u achieved. You forced a massive corporation to bow to the whim of the people. That’s a glorious thing. Love always shines everytime remember 2 smile has always been a ‘note2self; the product of trying to figure a reason to keep going.”
