Da Brat Released From Jail, Rep Confirms

XXLMag.com has learned that that Da Brat has been freed from jail, after serving a three year bid for assault.

“I can confirm that Da Brat has been released and is home in Atlanta,” said the MC’s publicist, Saptosa Foster.

The jail time stemmed from a 2007 occurrence at an Atlanta club where the 36-year-old rapper was arrested after striking a woman over the head with a bottle. A work-release program allowed Da Brat to have some freedom over the last year.

Jermaine Dupri took to twitter yesterday (February 28) to announce his excitement. “Happy day for me and all SO SO DEF fans, Da BRAT is finally home,” tweeted JD who has worked with the Chicago native since her platinum selling album, Funkdafied. JD is expected to give a statement soon. Stay tuned to XXLMag.com as more details emerge. —Nicole LoPresti

da brat is out! lol Good for her.. but Some of these rappers need to realise that they are to old to be getting into stupid situations, she like 36 now… she supposed to be on some constructive vibe not just getting home from the clink. . Hope she’s learned her lesson and will help others to avoid that road and waste of good (free)years

Brat couldnt spit like Rage on her best day. Both Rage and Brat would eat Minaj food though.

    welcome home brat

I’ve always been a fan of Da Brat. I’m glad she’s home and I hope she can pick up her career where she left it. Not saying she needs to be trying to get on no Wakka Flocka tracks, but there is a place in Hip-Hop for Da Brat.

Welcome Home Brat. Shorty should hit that mixtape grind up and give heads another female mc to speak on besides the Kim vs Minaj bullshit. Always thought it was funny how most of JD’s success came from kid or female artists. When he stepped up to Aftermath though Xzibit and Em shut his ass up though with the quickness.
