Curren$y Plans Two New Albums, Tour for 2011

Now that the ink is dry on Curren$y’s Warner Bros. contract, he’s wasting no time in making his arrival known. The Jets Life star is ready to take flight, with several new albums and a promo tour lined up for 2011.
Curren$y has two new longplayers, Muscle Car Chronicles and Pilot Talk III, penciled for 2011. The former Young Money associate kicked off his widely acclaimed Pilot Talk series in 2010 with Pilot Talk and Pilot Talk II, issued through Damon Dash’s BluRoc Records and distributed by Def Jam. The two street albums moved about 70,000 units combined and helped Curren$y earn a reported $750K in touring on his own.
The former XXL Freshman is also putting finishing touches on a new EP, Covert Coup, produced entirely by The Alchemist. Covert Coup will hit the iTunes on April 19th, just in time for the 4/20 holiday in Smoker Nation. The aforementioned promo tour begins the next night in New Orleans.

“..add that to these underground rap dollas/ refused the majors & stayed real i kept my promise..” – Curren$y

    ^^STFU. liar.

    • aq92

man hes got 14 mixtapes and 2 independent albums to prove he kept his promise. As long as he keeps making good music, i can dig this. Plus hes also doing it to help out his niggas like roddy and trademark

      • heffner

y would u even say something like that? thats just stupid cause he wanna get some real money he aint real now? dumbass u want him to stay underground n missin all the money and never have the chance to crossover? ur an idiot kid

    • DMoney

Dont get that twisted, he had to sign a distribution deal with Def Jam and thats how we got Pilot Talk 1 and Pilot Talk 2. Him moving over to Warner for distribution is still a pretty much independent move on his part.

He seems to be in full control of what hes doing. Props to Curren$y for being the hardest working man in hip hop and still never selling out even when Wiz has been so successful.

I say that Curren$y and Wiz are like the hip hop version of Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook. The new kids ready to take the whole game over.

  • No Name

Too many rappers for the last two to three years have bragged about releasing two LPs in a year like anyone cares. No one wants to be bombarded with regrettable filler material just because you wanna keep a promise. One project at a time please, fellas.

    • Dallas

Yeah but Pilot Talk and Pilot Talk 2 were 2 albums full of dopeness. I know Spitta’s sound will have to change a little bit but as long as he keeps the essense of what got him here he should be alright. $750K? Damn that must be lovely.

  • Byron

what the hell dog i wish somebody would do an interview with him i thought him and dame were cool and that he would stay on blu roc like i wish there was more deatail to this shit so i know what going on

  • jonny bizness

  • EmCDL

I still think he shouldn’t have signed to a major label…they about to rape all his profits! But I suppose he knows what he’s doing so….

Anyway, can’t wait till that PT3 drop, I know its gonna be fire. And that nigra coming out to L.A.? Its about to be a wrap indeed…
