Today is the day. Hip-hop producer Statik Selektah is linking up with Freeway to record their Statik-Free EP, which will be released tomorrow, and XXLMag.com is on the scene to document the entire process. [Watch below]

“I’m just gonna run through beats and we’re just gonna let the listeners get involved and come up with a hook or a concept for songs and help pick the beats for Free to rap too,” Statik revealed to XXL last week.

Statik and Free stress that this is the first time that a hip-hop has been recorded completely interactive with fans. “We’re coming up with it on the spot,” Freeway added. “We’re going to interact with the fans. If you come up with the concept while we’re listening to the beat— the fans might say something and I might throw it in a rap.”

Statik assures XXL that fans should expect a slew of special surprise guests to stop during the session, set to start at 5 p.m. EST today now. —Rob Markman
