Charles Hamilton is still in Cleveland county jail  for a felony assault charge from last month, but today (January 4) the troubled rapper was in court, where he was referred to a psychiatric clinic.

A clerk for the Cayuga County Court of Common Pleas confirmed with XXLMag.com that Hamilton will be evaluated by the court’s psychiatric facility to see if he is competent to stand trial in the case.

He will not receive another court date until the report comes back. The clerk says that usually doesn’t come for a couple of weeks.

As previously reported, Hamilton was arrested on Friday, December 10 in downtown Cleveland for assaulting two police officers and resisting arrest.

Charles was treated in mental hospital in 2010. During a live interview with XXLMag.com back in August, as part of our weekly UStream show, Spotlight, Hamilton spoke on his hospital stay. “Honestly I can say I was in the hospital for a broken heart,” he said.

In related news, Gucci Mane was recently ordered to a mental treatment facility for 30 days, in his probation violation case.
