Beastie Boys Confirm Album Release This Year
It sounds like 2011 will be the year of the comeback for the Beastie Boys. Twenty five years after releasing their debut, Licensed to Ill, the Brooklyn-bred group is set to drop once again this year—the first time since 2007.
According to Billboard, Mike D confirmed in an interview with BBC Radio 1 the group will release Hot Sauce Committee Part 2 this spring, now that things are looking up for fellow Beastie member Adam Yauch, who has been battling cancer for the last year-plus.
There are set to be two Hot Sauce Committee albums, though only Part 2 seems to be on the way. "It's still delayed, the first one," said Mike D. "The second one is coming out as originally scheduled." —Adam Fleischer
