For better or worse, since his 2005 debut album, The Documentary, Game has been known to name-drop plenty of actors, athletes and rappers to help illustrate his rhymes. Some hold it against the West coast MC, but to his diehard fan base, Game can do no wrong. With so much hate in hip-hop, is it so wrong for a rapper to acknowledge all of his influences and channel them through his/her lyrics? XXL doesn't think so. It's the Compton native's preferred way of concocting similes and creating imagery in his rhymes, and it's served to give Game's music a distinct sound.

So, to celebrate the release of Purp & Patron, Game's latest double-disc mixtape (actually, this was a free Internet download and no actual discs were distributed as of yet), we listened intently to the release, caught every name drop, and jotted them down.

We counted 149 different shout-outs, with Game spitting about everyone from Dr. Dre to Michael Jordan to Floyd Mayweather to the late Tupac Shakur. Rather than keep this nerdy find to ourselves, we decided to share it with you guys.

Say our name, say our name!
