Since Lil Wayne was released from Rikers Island jail earlier this month, an impostor has been attempting to set up a fake tour. A rep for his manager issued a statement today (November 16) to XXLMag.com denying the rumors that Weezy and his Young Money Family are gearing up to hit the road together this spring.

“It has come to light that an individual has been impersonating Bryant Management CEO Cortez Bryant, and Bryant Management operations manager Nina Packer, for financial gain through false bookings of a Lil Wayne featuring Young Money / Cash Money family tour,” the statement reads, referring to Wayne’s longtime manager. “Utilizing phony email addresses (cbryant@youngmoneytour2011.com and N.PACKER@YOUNGMONEYTOUR2011.COM) the individual(s) have been targeting independent promoters across the nation in an attempt to solicit dates for a Lil Wayne headlined tour featuring artists such as Nicki Minaj, Drake, Birdman and others for spring 2011.

“Lil Wayne, who is co-managed by Bryant Management and Hip Hop Since 1978, domestic tours are booked exclusively by Live Nation and Shawn Gee of SEFG, LLC,” it continues.

As previously reported, the New Orleans rapper was freed from jail on November 4 after serving eights months for a gun charge. Just yesterday his first post-Rikers appearance on wax on the remix to Birdman’s "Fire Flame,” dropped. Cash Money artist DJ Khaled said on his Twitter account that the track will appear on the duo’s forthcoming Like Father, Like Son sequel, which has yet to receive a release date. —Elan Mancini
