Rosa Acosta is having the best week ever. Earlier today when Harris Publications announced the return of KING, the Dominican diva had the distinct honor of being the newest cover girl for the resurrection of “the illest men’s magazine ever.” Now, after weeks of online voting, XXLMag.com readers have crowned Rosa the people’s choice for Eye Candy of the Year.
For the first time ever the competition for XXL’s annual Eye Candy of the Year honors were so intense that we wound up with co-winners—the lovely Rosa Acosta (Drake’s “Best I Ever Had” and “Forever”) and Cuban cutie Tammy Torres (Fabolous’ “Everything, Everyday, Everywhere” and Birdman’s “Money to Blow”).
While both women still share 2009’s Eye Candy of the Year honors, last month XXLMag.com kicked off an online poll for readers to chime in on which one of the reigning queens was hotter.
Nearly 4,300 readers cast their ballots in the tight race between these battling beauties. Tammy didn’t do too shabby, snagging 2,052 votes, but Rosa just edged her out for the win, getting 2,245 people to nudge her towards victory with 52% of the votes.
“I’m really thankful to all my fans who have continued to support me and make this happen,” Rosa said upon hearing about winning the fan’s vote. “I’ve got a lot of projects scheduled for 2010 so stay in touch via rosaacosta.com.”
Look for Rosa on the cover of The Women of KING, which hits stands December 24, just in time for Christmas.
