SOUNDCHECK: Mighty Infamous “Meantime”

Show & Prove Presents…Soundcheck [Editor’s Note: Soundcheck is not an XXL Magazine or XXLMag.com co-sign. It offers a platform for up-and-coming artists to be heard. You be the judge.]

Name: Mighty Infamous

*YOE: Six years

Hometown: Bronx, NY

Musical Influences: Jay-Z, Nas, Big Pun, Eminem, and Ghostface Killah

Favorite Rap Album: Supreme Clientele

Sales Pitch: I’m the greatest lyricist from the Bronx. This is my second time on XXL. Last Summer, my track, “Turn The Radio Off” got on here and I got some good feedback. I put out “Infamy, Death of a Lyricist,” which is on iTunes now, and my buzz got up there. “Meantime” is the first single off my next release, Urgent Patience, which is due out August 1st and is gonna be able to be downloaded from my page. I want my music to be heard so I’m giving it away. So y’all have no reason to not have my album on your iPod. My next single, “Home Again,” is dropping on July 4th and that’s definitely a classic, so we gonna get that in the Banger section. [Editor's Note: Yeah buddy, we'll see about that.] Good looks to Eskay and Jackpot for looking out and giving me a shot at getting my music up here. Maybe XXL will finally put me in the “Show & Prove” section of the magazine now.

  • Bad Money

    Datz right my boy Mighty Infamous is one of Da Bronx Finest especially at his age! Do holla at him

  • Yayza

    Flow isn’t bad, even if it is derivative of guys like Big L, just to name one. Lyrically, it’s the same old shit we’ve all heard before though.

    • CraZY

      Wtf is a Mistah Fab? You must obviously be from a land that nobody cares about. Probably like San Fran or something. Isn’t Mistah Fab the same loser that made a track off a Ghostbusters beat and got sued? Nigga please. Aren’t yall the people that “go dumb”? Get yo ass on the little ass bus and ghost ride your whip off the coast and into the ocean. You wouldn’t know real rap if it was fucked your mother. Please.

      I’m co-signning cause 1) he’s nice and 2) dumbass niggas like you are still commenting on things hip hop related

  • Better than last weeks garbage

    Not by much but a pinch better than last weeks nonsense.

  • http://myspace.com/DJMydas DJ Mydas

    stop biting Jay.

    • Shawtie

      sweetie please.
      he already stated that he listens to Jay Z.
      you think he sounds like Jay so hop off his shit.

  • Shawty J

    I see potential in him, the song is a generic money track, but it’s still good.

  • J.W.C.

    better than alot of stuff out there these days. nonetheless, too many people are rappin about hustlin and money – this kid is a good lyricist, but is he really a gangsta? Rap about something original and maybe you can claim to be the best.

  • StyLeZ

    This track here is for the summer of `o8 hands down!
    Shit is crazy and I’m supportin my dude m.i. All the mother$#@! Way. . .

    H.B. We live `o8<–*

    @Crazy
    yeah nigga iam from the west coast and i watched Mr Fab go to your fucking city and crush any nigga that was willing to test him on the battle tip!Joe Budden a New Yorker bitch azz didnt even show up but if you look at it that aint the first time west coast niggas went to your fuckin city and punked you niggas lets date back to when the dogg pound made the video crushin your buildings bitch!this is a lil nigga that is rapping from his room in some hood somewhere get da fuckoutta here…YOur city aint even relevant no more nigga and ya ll started the shit!i would comment more but your Mom is calling me to the back to gIVE ME more hot head!

    • Sidewalks Of NY

      Actually, Mistah Fab came here to participate in a freestyle battle, but he didnt battle an actual rapper from New York. He beat Royce ’59. A rapper from Detriot. And Joe Buddens isnt from New York, he’s from New Jersey. Mistah FAB is only hot in one part of the US. And thats the West Coast.

  • fred

    @Crazy
    IF THIS IS ALL YA LL GOT IN NEW YORK YA LL THRU OHHHH WAIT A MINUTE YA LL BEEN THRU FOR A MINUTE!

  • FRED

    @CRAZY
    DUDE IS WHACKED AND YEAH FAB WOULD CRUSH THIS CHUMP!FAB IS THE SAME DUDE THAT THAT FAT AZZ DJ FAT MAN SCOOP WAS SUCKIN FAB NUTS AFTER THAT BATTLE WAS OVER!ALL COMPETITION WAS CRUSHED AND NO ONE WENT AFTER FAB!HOW COULD YOU LET A BAY NIGGA GO TO YOUR CITY AND RIDE ON YOU NIGGAS!YA LL AINT GOT NOBODY OUT THERE NO MORE OHHH YEAH WELL YA LL GOT THE WASHED UP MC’S I GUESS.DAM YOUR MOM CALLING ME AGAIN!
    I GOTTA PUT SOME MORE OF THIS MEAT ON HER AGAIN ITS THE THIRD TIME TODAY!

    • CraZY

      Look how ignorant you sound. You’re the typical hood nigga that supposedly has something to prove to the world. I mean look at it. You just sat here and posted 3 comments in a row. Plus, Joe Budden isn’t even from New York. He’s from Jersey. Do they not teach you geography in your schools or are you just a dumbass? I’d have to side with the later. Either way, I don’t have a problem with the West coast. I just think Mistah Fab is a loser. And you’re just another slave to the system that reps every rapper that comes out of his/her area. I think this kid has talent. He can spit. Not the best of tracks but you can take it how you want to. You’re the poster child for everything hip hop shouldn’t be. You’re sitting here bragging about how much harder (no homo) your coast is through violence. Open up a book. Read Sankofa or Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison or something. Educate yourself. You really shouldn’t be spending your time posting comments at 12 in the afternoon.

  • Bizzy

    mediocre. but what happened to the other half of Kriss Kross?

  • raju

    the hook is weak at best.

    this dude is a poor poor man’s big l.

    he can rap. but please, fat joe, is better. so far, he is not 1/84th of big pun either.

  • raju

    fred, u suck. he is better than 96 percent of southern rappers though.

  • ronald

    He got talent.your need to check an artist down miami that is ridicilus go to http://www.myspace.com/jefffresh2def

  • fred

    @crazy
    @raju eat a dick!

    I get paid to chill i own shit niggas i dont live at home in the basement like you clowns do with your mamas!i get residual paper!
    and real talk that is what it is and those are facts i presented.Mistah fab got the crown in the mc battle that was in New york call him wack but he went to the big apple and crushed anyone who went against him that ghost buster track was weak but he not.As far as this little clown hes no better than nobody else he aint no different he must be the nephew of a nigga that work at xxlmag or some shit!When fab won that battle just outta pride one of you so called east coast cats that was in the audience shouldhave went and battled ..Sean Bell rip was blasted and typical east coast niggas didnt even tear shit up but in LA you know how we do it.

  • Bruno

    This is straight garbage lol. Sounds like he got no balls. Flow is weak just like his buzz

  • EricSE517

    This track is crazy!! Keep it up yo.

  • mharlem4lifee

    This is some hard shit…..almost make niggas wanna come from the bronx….keep doin ya thing nigga….and the money will come 2 u nigga Lite….HB ALL DAY!!!

  • http://chlorococaina.blogspot.com miami_vice

    good write up for him, but I don’t this is really good. its not enjoyable to listen to. i really don’t like this. at all.

  • cheeze

    people can say they dont like the song.. not everyone is gonna want to bump it in the car or whatever.. but to say dude can’t rap.. that his flow is weak.. that his lyrics are bad…. please. yall must be some prepubescent soulja boy fans.
