I got the idea for this topic from watching the HBO movie Lackawanna Blues, which is a great movie by the way yall need to check it out when you can. Here's a synopsis of the movie: LB
Nana had this special understanding with her husband.
That agreement between a man and a woman that some people can't understand. A good woman in a marriage with a man. They are there for each other and they take care of their responsibilites. See but this woman lets a man be a man. Other than taken care of his duties, the man may be out and about doing what you call cheating. The man goes out and the streets and does his dirt, but he doesn't bring it to the home front. Rest assure that the woman in the marriage knows what this man is doing. People from the outside like some of yall don't understand why she continues to be with him. She remains with him, because they have that understanding that some people can't understand. This is the type of understanding that every real man wants in his marriage. Now I know what type of responses I'm going to get:
Hes not a real man if he cheats
Its not a real marriage if hes cheating
she must have low self-esteem for him to cheat on her
he might bring std's to her, you can't be so loose this day and age
blah blah blah blah blah
I'm asking anybody who reads this: Can you understand the understanding between a man and a woman?
I remember watching the movie Ray, and Ray Charles and his wife had this understanding.
