THE WALLS OF ADDICTION

Temptations... are impatient fruits of sensation.
Embracin' the faces of truth and fixation.
This place is the home of attempted ascension.
The doors of addiction are keys to affliction.

Daily doses, of potions that keep me vaguely focused.
maybe hopin against hope will keep me safely hopeless.
cause with hope, someone can always take it away.

Trust drops bombs... I'm headed for an atomic winter.
logic withers, how can I pray when I'm a constant sinner.

Fight harder, like winds against high waters.

Anyway, I didn't put punchlines in the whole verse because I wanted half to describe the desolation. How one has truly reached rock bottom. The second part is to build you up and show you how you can fight it and bring yourself back.

i am so pissed at you for explaining that "die hard" line.
that bar was too perfect to give further explanation.
that metaphor is even deeper because, much like John McClane, old habits keep coming back even when you think they have been defeated.
and saying that they "die harder" is even doper because, in all the ones i've seen, he doesn't die.
in many cases neither do old habits.

Thanks Lefty, I've recognized your skill from the start and I'll never deny that you won that battle fair and square. We've had our problems, but nonone is faster to look the other way than me. I'm just trying to get everybody to stop arguing and come to together in order to put some Ill shit on here.

Anyway, if the rest of you have to, just don't read the last two lines of my verse. They don't count.

Both parties came with it, however my vote goes to Mymph. His drop was better constructed in terms of flow/rhyme scheme. Also, his use of the first person perspective made his verse easier to relate to, as the second segment definitely struck some chords.

Good drops from both though.

Saph (or Carolina Slim)'s verse was real thought provoking and what not but Mymphis shit was just smoove. It flowed good, nice rhyme scheme, and above all, it made hella sense from the first line:
