Okay a couple days ago my boyfriend, my two best girl friends at school, and my best guy friend at school were on the 48 heading to Columbia City. So this other guy was on the bus too. He started asking us when we were all born. I said '92. My boyfriend said '90. One of my girl friend's said '91. My other girl friend said '89 and my guy friend said '90. So the guy was like, "you guys are square's. I'm born in '82 so I have way more experience and I'm more hood than you guys." So we were like, "whatever" and just went on with our business. So my boyfriend started saying to me, "come over here." So I went, "what's the magic word?" and I'm just playing around with him. So he goes, "please come over here." I went over to my boyfriend and he said, "please. I would have said, 'you better come over here bitch.'" So I turned to the guy and said, "excuse me but I'm a person, not a dog thank you very much." That's when he got quiet. We soon passed by a school called Franklin so I said, "I would have went there if I didn't go to Nova." That's when my boyfriend said, "I heard they have a high STD spread." So I went, "yeah I wouldn't want to deal with that. I just wouldn't date anybody there." That's when the guy said to my boyfriend, "you gonna let her put you in check like that?" And my boyfriend went, "she didn't even say anything." And he started to get an attitude with my boyfriend all like, "I can't believe you don't see it. I would call your girl a bitch. Shit I don't care. I call nigga's mama's bitches too. That's all females are." And that's when me and my friends started getting mad at him. Soon he got off the bus. And before he got off the bus he said to my boyfriend, "if I was you, I'll punch your girlfriend in the face cuz she can't be talking back to you like that." And that's when my boyfriend and my guy friend was ready to beat him up. But he ran off the bus.

I think some men today should learn that women are people too. Not just sluts, whores, bitches, or whatever. And I think some men that think that need to be re-raised.

I agree that both males and females have their own problems and neither is better or worth more than the other. But as a female, I can say two things on my views about respect:

1. You reap what you sow. Dudes generally disrespect females that don't respect themselves. On first glance, anyone can get dissed just for being in the area at the wrong time. I don't see that as male/female, that's just people. But even in that situation, the way you carry yourself helps determine whether or not you get dissed the next time. Never lower yourself to the level of the disrespectful person.

2. Life isn't fair so men and women aren't equal in every way. Bottomline: when it comes to sex, men have the advantage b/c they don't get pregnant. Everyone gets STDs, emotional pain, etc. but only women get pregnant. So that means- all my ladies hear me- we can't act like MOST men act. It may sound old-fashioned, but I've learned my lessons well. I never heard a dude dissing virgins. But once they get the 'nani w/o any obligations- the respect is done.
