the magazine which funded something new and all its stereotypes against black men (homo, thuggish etc) is at it again and has attempted to slur neyo
http://www.vibe.com/blog/vc/2006/08/is_neyo_coming_out.html then later
http://www.vibe.com/blog/vc/2006/08/ne-yo_...mors_false.html now if I was NEYO I would sue essence magazine, how much crap do black man have to put up with? this magazine is a black female magazine owned by a white man, even though it masquerades as a black magazine in reality it is nothing more than a tool of propaganda used by white men and black women to attack black men.
its not the rumors but more the damage it does to peoples careers, NEYO should stand up for all black men and sue this magazine into the floor.

If he is gay then why should people give a shit. I don't believe the so-called article. But Essence is a homophobic magazine. Black culture and black women especially have a born again liberation for hating "gay" or "bisexual" black men. They overlook the fact that its probably more gay women than it is men. On the other hand they also overlook the fact that many women commit adultery and if a black woman becomes HIV positive then always think it because their husband or boyfriend was bangin a dude.
Women cheat all the fuckin time just like men. Maury Povich done put that shit out in the open with that DNA testing. It ain't always the man's fault and black women need to stop datin these gay dudes and then tryin to say black men a re all gay. No. Bitches are just a lot dumber than they think they are. Sorry if I sound sexist but this shit is ignorant.
A lot of women need to stop blaming there relationship problems on gay dudes and white women. It helps to look in the mirror sometimes.

I don't think he should sue Essence cuz Essence ain't got nothing to do with the rumor. Somebody just decided to make a false article over the enternet cuz they have no life. Essence ain't had nothing to do with that rumor so I feel they shouldn't get blamed for it. Also I used to read Essence and I never have read an article about them being homophobic.

Duckman not trying to attack you man or anything...but what you said was extremely insensitive and sexist...we as men overlook alot of the crooked ass shit we do
and put the blame on women all the time, women have reasons to be suspicious
as a good man i'm tired of of all these men disrespecting women and thinking its ok..like its an everyday thing..we should appreciate women more.ya know what i mean..i'm tired of all the "bitches and hos"..don't get me wrong i might joke around every now and then
and enjoy the occasional naked female body in videos and such lol.but it becomes a problem when you have men calling women out of their names when the men don't even know them..i've seen this alot even when women are walking down the street or wherever,i feel like thats disrespectful..and i might be the only man with balls to even say this but i'm seriously tired of the bullshit women have to go through by us..

I agree with Superman. And then black men keep calling black women bitches and hoes all the time now white guys think they can do it too. One time when I was walking down the street some white guy yelled to me, "what it is hoe." And I got so mad I was like, "who the fuck you think you are? You can't be calling people out their name and shit and you don't know me like that. Don't ever call me out like that and shit I got a name." And then he started going, "I thought you females liked that." And I never did understand why it's so hard for guys to call a woman by her name. It's really not that hard and if you don't know a chick's name, just ask. I don't know why we get called bitches and a bitch is a female dog. Last time I checked I don't walk on all 4 legs.

Sorry Fizzles and Super if I sounded too extreme. But I do hear a lot of homophobia towards black men from these magazines and tons of black women themselves. You just can't put all the blame on guys even though there is tons of bad guys out there. Its just as many women that do dirt in this country I feel. To a lot of people its acceptable to be a gay woman but to be a gay man then its downright deplorable. If black people as a whole were more accepting to gay men then a lot of the major problems we have will be decreased. You shouldn't expect millions of brothas to come out of the closet when our culture outcasts them.

I personally have nothing against gay men. I usually prefer hanging with them before I hang out with a straight guy because a gay guy can get me better. Also I use to be a person that was against gays until I started looking at Degrassi (if any of y'all watch that but I doubt it) and I saw what Marco (a guy character) was going through (like getting beat up for being gay, his best friend hating his guts for being gay, how homophobic has dad was and how he reacted when he found out his son was gay, how he couldn't donate blood cuz he was gay and the people felt he had HIV, and how The Friendship Club bashed him for being a homosexual) I was like, "damn and gay people probably go through this shit all the time. I also started making friends with people that were bi sexual and lesbian/gay so I was like man they got the right to be who they wanna be. I even now support gay marriage now. I even had my step dad taking my side on it also.

duckman nothings wrong with being a gay black men...the problem is that some of these men are hiding it(DL) and going home to their wives or girlfriends..not nothing what type of virus they have gotton from sleeping with these other men...i'm sure a black woman would get the same backlash if they hid that as a secret too...but everything else you said i agreed with man

Yeah Degrassi used to come on when I was a little kid in the late 80's on PBS for a little while. they even used to tackle all the taboos back then that American shows won't tackle now. I see why that show has been on 20 years with diffrent series. They used to show interracial relationships and gay relationships when American shows wouldn't dare do that. The messed up thing about it is 16 years later, I here some American media still bashin that show. Watchin that show then was like crazy cuz I never saw an American show like that ever.

Yeah my step dad was tripping on that show but he said he's glad the show was made cuz he knows I go through that stuff. But now people trip off of South Of Nowhere cuz that's about two girls that become lovers and how it affects people around them. My parents get a little worried when I look at that cuz they think I might switch to lesbian but I don't think any show has that type of power. But gays are getting more accepted now so it's not much of a big deal no more.
