As a child, I naively imagined that religion was all about love and spreading love. But as I grew older and watched some of the most ignorant people God ever created, I realized that for them, religion is nearly a cult and they are only concerned with people who think like them.

This is not a rant against all Christians, nor is it a rant against all religion. However, there are some things that many Christians in America have been doing and saying that make them look very, very stupid.

First, American Christians look and sound stupid claiming that God is being banned from the schools and courthouses.

This is just stupid. This notion is based on some people’s desire to have religious symbology such as the Ten Commandments removed, and lines such as "one nation under God," removed from the Pledge of Allegiance. Not everyone in the nation is Christian and some people are even atheists. They have the right not to be exposed to religious propaganda, and since we have plenty of churches in the country, the outrage makes no sense.

Since God is God, then God will always be in the classroom and the courtroom and there is nothing any puny human can do. God definitely doesn’t need the help of stupid people to go anywhere on God’s green earth. God is omnipotent, and He is everywhere, whether you stupid Christians have words and symbols present or not and he doesn’t need you morons to force people to see him.

Christians sound stupid saying: "God wants me to spread his message of love to everyone."

It’s always comical and frustrating when I hear lunatics talk about what God has told them to do, which usually involves infringing on someone else’s rights. It also typically involves spreading the word of a specific religion, NOT the pure word that God is love.

This one is disturbing: People who haven’t been exposed to Christianity will go to hell.

This is especially stupid for you Black Christians because the slaves who were dragged here in chains didn’t have bibles. Are you so stupid that you believe that all the Africans before slavery were condemned to hell?

Here's another one: Unless a person is saved, they are d**ned to hell.

When you say that to another person who doesn’t share your beliefs, you are probably the one who will be d**ned to hell. Again, God doesn’t need puny little mortals to force other mortals to believe in him.

How many times have you heard this one? Sending Jesus emails and chain letters is a new ministry utilizing new technology.

Let’s get this one straight: It’s actually evil when you send unsolicited Jesus emails that allegedly cause bad luck if not forwarded. The sheer stupidity of the Christians who do this ignores the fact that even some devout Christians are repulsed by sappy poems, corny pictures (especially the ones with a blue-eyed Jesus) and threats of bad luck if the email is not forwarded to friends, family and co-workers. I don’t think there is anything in the bible about spreading the word across the world wide web.

We've all heard: People can "find" Jesus.

Is he lost? And, if he is the son of God, can’t he very well find all of God’s children himself?

And, the silliest racial argument of all is : God’s color is irrelevant.

Throughout the ages, people have gone out of their way to represent God/Jesus as a blue-eyed, blond man. There was a reason for that. Now, when people want to challenge that, suddenly his race doesn’t matter. Shut up stupid.

Here's some patriotic crap: Christianity is the religion of America.

This is perhaps stupidest of all. If America was founded by people who were escaping religious persecution, how much sense does it make to then persecute people who hold divergent beliefs? Wasn’t the nation founded with tenets of religious tolerance?

If Christians are really concerned about God, then why not represent God without all of the other noise? Why can’t it be about God, which is universal, as opposed to the Trinity and all of the other things that are about the religion and not really about universal spirituality?

See, really, if any of us are truly children of God and truly want to represent the love of God for mankind, then we would be about the business of finding more ways to unify with each other, as opposed to dividing.

If I am a Muslim and you speak only of your love for God, then we can love God together. But once you speak of how I will be d**ned if I don’t accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, you start to lose me and the work of the devil begins.

I’ve introduced this concept before, but let me see if I can get a warmer reception from the Christians who are still using their brains for thinking: If we really recognize the Jesus in the bible, we have to recognize that he wasn’t about religion at all. What Jesus was really about was love for all of God’s children based on a spiritual connection with God. We know this because we know that Jesus was not Christian, and promoted only love for humanity and for God, not for any religion.

Now, if we use today’s standards, its really not that difficult to understand why religious zealots felt compelled to kill him. Think about it: people were murderously angry that Jesus was taking light away from religion and shining it on God.

Some of today’s stupid Christians are the same way.

Those of you who still can, just think for a moment. Imagine that God is only concerned about a spiritual connection to God and through Him, to all mankind. And imagine that when you separate from your brothers and sisters based on religious differences, that you are going against God.

Does that mean that hell awaits you?

Maybe. But I know it means that perhaps it really is about Ganesha or Buddha, or our ancestors, or the trees and flowers.

Now, of course, some Muslims and some Jews are also zealous in the pursuit of their religion and in being such, are stupidly working against our purposeful existence. But since Christians are the majority, and since the nation was founded by people who placed Christian symbology within its very foundation, then Christians are the most prolific in stupidity over religion.

As opposed to the alleged "religious freedom," the pilgrims were pursuing, today’s stupid Christians want everyone to embrace one religion.

That’s just stupid.

i also agree with some of the things in the article but lets not forget that when the so called founding fathers of america put anything on paper or in documentation or took any kind of oath they normally did so in the name of god. so its sort of an unspoken tradition in america to have god incorporated in just about all of its institutions, marriage, school,govenrment, prison , law enforcement, courts , and financial. its not so much that things are being seperated but its more about who is seperating them and what for , because not everybody who wants these things done are civil or compassionate about freedom of choice and things like that but it might be a ploy or the beginning of something we dont fully under stand. in other words im with it if its out of innocense but anything being done out of hatred or for conspiratorial reasons that might inflict bodily or mentally harm on unsuspecting people or other wise shouldnt be tolerated.

alright im a christian and i sort of agree in this article about some christians damning people and saying theyre going to hell they dont determine that like they say only god can judge people me i really just plant seeds in people, like if someone is not religious i just say "man u should embrace christianity if u interested in what its about talk to me" then im gone and if they dont want to talk to me about it then hopefully someone else will come and talk to them about and they'll be interested

There were Muslims in the building who died also...........and there were a ton of hopes and dreams before some....Christians....subjected Jews to the gas chambers, and before some.....Christians.....sailed ships called "The Saviour" from Africa with human cargo......, and before some.....Shintoists.....attacked Pearl Harbor, and before some....etc.......

In the Darfur region of Sudan, 180,000 people have already died in brutal ethnic conflict with muslims and other rebels and over two million people have been driven into homelessness with their huts and villages pillaged, burned, and destroyed. They are living in ramshackle grass huts spread in camps on the edge of the Sahara with no access to food, water, clothing, or shelter. Health care is non-existent. Killings and sexual assaults are rampant. These families are on the edge of survival, living in conditions that World Vision has rarely seen in its 50 plus years of serving the needy. Lives of thousands of children are threatened. Many have lost their fathers, their homes, and their communities. These children and families face a bleak future...............when i read about white people enslaving other people in the name of religion long ago i acknowledged them as monsters pure devils .......when i seen proof that the federal government flooded the african-american community with heroin in the form of legal prescriptions and then a street drug, devils.......when timothy mcveigh bombed that building same thing ,a devil........but guess whos enslaving africans right now .......guess who is supplying eighty percent of the world with heroin right now......guess whos blowing up buildings and shit as im typing......muslims and its not just one type or group of muslims responsible for these things but the religion is almost contaminated with poppy growers, african slave traders, and terrorist.

The U.N. whose leadership comes from the elite 7(all christian countries) has yet to make a decisive move in Darfur to stop the cullings.....Pres. Bush recently entertained the Chinese premiere in the White House knowing full well that his policies toward the Falun Gong(peaceful religious sect) have and continue to result in murder.....The Reagan Administration, I wont even go into the murder and genocide those "Bible Following Conservatives" created in Latin America, profitted off of the same drugs you just typed about and helped to bring that trade into a prominent light by endorsing that type of culture, Ollie North ring a bell--while adversely in the states posing an anti-drug front(oh yeah, Reagans cabinet IS prominent in Bush Jr.'s also).....

The point is that you're labeling Islam for the actions of a few, which is precisely the way the rest of the world can label all Americans because of the decisions made by the few men in this nation that wield it's true power....What your adhering to is called a "Logical Fallacy"--meaning quite frankly that it makes absolutely no sense....

What you have in the present day is the culmination of past discressions, period. How can you interpret any current event without knowledge of the events leading up to it, you can't....and you never will without a well rounded perspective. Now if you're gonna label Islam then do one thing, research what led certain individuals to the point that we're at right now--if there's a deep-seeded hatred then where does it come from, in what way did Israel recieve there state-and even more important is how did they take hold of the land, how did Osama, Castro, Khudafi, etc. come to power, etc. You're lookin at it just like the administration wants you too---short-sided and resolute....If you do your history and REALLY RESEARCH WHAT IS GOIN DOWN ON ALL FRONTS AND IN ALL RELIGIONS TODAY YOU WILL FIND THAT THEIR ALL CONTAMINATED BY A FEW LOST SOULS.... but just like you mentioned that the muslims in the WTC were sacriced for the majority why dont you sacrifice those few wayward scumbags for an overall better picture of the Islamic faith...K.nowledge R.ules S.upreme O.ver N.early E.veryone

Basically you didnt read my post.....I suggest you re-read it again understand that ALL faiths have wayward souls.....The destruction of the world that you are talking about is in actuality a rejection of the material dependence of western life---in other word capitalism, individualism, the free market....they don't want to destroy the WORLD, they just want to rid their worlds of American influence.....and their faith has NOTHING TO DO with suicide bombing, that's a complete misinterpretation of the Qu'Ran....Sort of like using the bible to validate the "White Man's Burden"---but if ya knew your history you could connect the dots...state some facts for your arguments and prove they are valid in all circumstances, take your argument on the heroin trade--what regions supply the world's gross of heroin, do those regions have the resources and area to sustain a constant supply? I'm willing to bet all the other non-islamic countries you look up(cause I guarantee you didn't research the other non-islamic sects involved in that trade) don't have the proper conditions to produce the amounts the top seller does. Western European involvement has caused immense atrocities THROUGHOUT the world, and Africa is just a product of it. Check what happened in India, check what happened in some part of Latin America. This is all directly correlated to western imperialism. All of these "western" countries justified their imperialistic policies through the message of Christianity. Does that mean Christianity is to blame, or that ALL Christians are evil and pernicious? NO, you dipshit.
