i just finished it over the weekend.. honestly.. and yall can think what u want.. i shed a couple tears while reading it
shit, even the first page will get to u.. reading details about his birth was no joke but some of the most powerful chapters IMO were the last 2 of the first half and the last chapter of the second half (sons of the father) especially that last chapter amazed me and brought a couple smiles outta me(if u believe in God.. u can see what i mean) because it shows that through all adversity in this mans life.. God never left him and made some of the most seemingly impossible shit happen
one crazy as hell coincidence that i noticed was that Tookie and Arnold ACTUALLY MET in the mid 70s.. i was literally left mouth open that something like that happened.. who knew that 30 yrs later.. well.. u know
and actually.. i believe the book was published around 2002.. so it was even before Arnold took office.. weird ish
but yes.. most definitely read it and make sure u got time cause that shit got so addictive to me that i couldnt put it down.. EXCELLENT book

Some call em a snitch for lockin up Gotti, but people called a hero because he locked up so many kingpin ever after locking Gotti. That's what witness protection does.

Read Born on the Fourth of July By Ron Kovic last week. Very good autobiography of a U.S. war veteran who goes into the Vietnam War with blind nationalism--only to end up permanently paralyzed. This book shows the disgust and horror of war in general, and that NO SIDES are righteous, no matter how much our media tries to fabricate it. It shows the dehumanization process a soldier must go through, and how a soldier is neglected by the American government once he is injured and of no use in their war.

Finished For Whom the Bell Tolls on Friday by Ernest Hemingway. Very deep and immersive novel, which highlights the inefficiencies and atrocities of the Civil War in Spain. Very good story, that has a poignant depiction of morality and inhumanity.

^^^^ yeah..the movie was ok, but you can't compare the book to the movie though.. but if they had made the movie like the book, they probably wouldn't have been able to show it in the US because it would have been so graphic and violent.
