UPCOMING FILM PRESENTS BLACK CHRISTS
By: Michael Ivey
Nu-Lite Entertainment’s new film, ‘Color of the Cross,’ chronicles the last forty-eight hours of Jesus’ life, and is scheduled for release this Fall. The twist is writer/director and star Jean Claude LaMarre is a black man. "I think that people will welcome this as a fresh perspective, especially as well-researched as this story is," said co-producer Rev. Cecil "Chip" Murray.
The film seeks to place the race question at the forefront as a possible motive for Jesus’ crucifixion. Creators expect LaMarre’s presence in the film to spark controversy but also envision their film inspiring all Christians, especially blacks., "When you see the black man on the cross, you are immediately reminiscent of the 1960’s… Our film hopes to heal those wounds," says co-producer Kenneth Halsband. As opposed to films like "The Ten Commandments" and "The Passion of the Christ" the cast of ‘Color of the Cross’ is reportedly comprised of many Middle Eastern and Mediterranean actors in order to accurately represent the people of Judea during Jesus’ time.
The film examines Jesus’ relationship with his disciples, the mind-state of the Romans who occupied Judea, the issues Rabbis in Sanhedrin faced, and the family life of Jesus’ parents and siblings. ‘Color of the Cross’ is an independently financed film and the first Hollywood feature to present Jesus the Christ as a black man. Jean Claude LaMarre has directed six films, including ‘Brothers in Arms’ and ‘Pastor Jones,’ and acted in projects such as ‘Dead Presidents,’ ‘The Walking Dead,’ ‘Fresh,’ and ‘Malcolm X.’

Simply put, Jesus was palestenian, and lived in the MIDDLE EAST. Jews started to integrate within Europe LONG AFTER the death of Jesus, thus their white skins
But does it matter? If jesus was white, would black christians disavow him? if jesus was black would white christians disavow him? i doubt it.
And anyone who repeatedly lives off of every literal translation of the gospels of the bible to allude to how Jesus looked, should seriously smack themselves. There were 400 different gospels around the yr 325 AD, only 4 of them were chosen by Constantine to be indoctrinated into the Bible.
