Unwilling to be a bit player with the Broncos, Jerry Rice retired Monday, closing a 20-year career for the most productive receiver in NFL history. Rice, 42, made his decision over the weekend at home in San Francisco, then returned to Broncos headquarters and met with coach Mike Shanahan. He played 20 NFL seasons. - From yahoo

A chapter in NFL history is closing... one of the greatest football players the world has seen, great respect to the man, closing out while he is still remembered for the great things he did... instead of playing another season where he isnt the Jerry rice we once knew and loved...

Big respect to rice... so long #80

Hands down he's the best receiver even at 40+. I just think that it was time for him to turn it in u know. I mean cuz these young receivers ain't playin and neither are these young corners. But then again can't nobody check Rice. Peace son. #80 will be missed.
