it does, cus it gives us another bad stereotype, although there are SOME facts about black people that are used as stereotypes that arent negative. and what does the media have to do with stereotyping? that comes from different people and what they think about us. There thoughts are then turned against us to make us look bad when in actually not all stereotypes are bad, some of them could even be GOOD.

Ex: its a stereotype for black people to play basketball. So what? whats wrong with playing basketball and making Kobe Bryant money of 13-19 mil a year?

I totally disagree with this thread because males are such hypocrites. Black males want a classy woman yet they continue to wear white Ts, oversized jeans, fitted caps, timberland boots, white uptowns. etc. yet you want a classy female who wears nice "conservative" clothes but when we go out together, we look like we're going to two different places. Its always the "ghetto" males who wants the classy females. The term Ghetto is relative in my opinion. Ghetto is a mentality not a gender or race issue. I know some executives who act ghetto as they wanna be outside of their job. As a community we have digested this idea that ghetto is something that you are and that's not true. Some females are harder than most men out here. I am not knockin men but it's the truth. But I don't think it has anything to do with being ghetto. Being Hoochified has nothing to do with being ghetto, despite what the media and other entities tell us. It has to do with being a attention starved female that feels they can only get a man's attention by dressing half naked. I just feel like the term ghetto has been overused and overdone.
