simple question. Vote and explain. cool.gif
Baby Jeezy
Actually, I am surprised at how many people liked this. It was ok, but I was hoping for more of that ruggedness kinda like that verse on Kanye's album or the Corner.

Most of BE was a little to feminine for me, kinda like Andre 3000's shit.

Overall, it was decent though. A one time listen.

4.5........i can listen all the way through....its cohesive...but i just dont feel it so much.....
GuNiTsHaWdEe83138
i thought Be was really good, one of my favorite albums released this year... i would say 4 mics
ShortyWop
you haver a point "Jeezy". Common did do his thing, but this nigga was talking too much about love. "Faithful" and "Love Is" were dope, "Go" was the weakest song on there, but 3 songs about love? huh.gif wtf? Besides Go being average, BE could very well BE a classic this time next year. very dope album, not no one time listen "Jeezy" dry.gif

I want to be as free as the spirits of those who left
I'm talking Malcom, Coltrane, my man Yusef
Through death through conception
New breath and resurrection
For moms, new steps in her direction
In the right way
Told inside is where the fight lay
And everything a nigga do may not be what he might say
Chicago nights stay, stay on the mind
But I write many lives and lay on these lines
Wave the signs of the times
Many say the grind's on the mind
Shorties blunted-eyed and everyone wonderin' where I'm
Bush pushing lies, killers immortalized
We got arms but won't reach for the skies
Waiting for the Lord to rise
I look into my daughter's eyes
And realize that I'ma learn through her
The Messiah, might even return through her
If I'ma do it, I gotta change the world through her
Furs and a Benz, gramps wantin 'em
Demons and old friends, pops they hauntin' him
The chosen one from the land of the frozen sun
When drunk nights get remembered more than sober ones
Walk like warriors, we were never told to run
Explored the world to return to where my soul begun
Never looking back or too far in front of me
The present is a gift
and I just wanna BE

had me like blink.gif

Wanna know something funny. Remember I made up this Baby Jeezy character a while back as a means to dis Jeezy. Now that atl got banded, I have to use it and it made me sick to my stomach just now when you called me Jeezy. I actually threw up a little bit in my mouth.

Aint Karma a bitch?
Baby Jeezy
You're right Brown. I am not saying that Common is not dope. I am just saying that I cant listen to such a soft album all at one time because he kinda fooled me with that single and verse on Kanye's shit. Kinda like 50 fooled yall by dissin Ja for singing and then turned around and did it himself. It would not be as bad if they did not mislead the fans.

But musically speaking, half the beats suck and sound the same.

y dont you make a new account then?
Baby Jeezy
I will when he bans this one for no reason. I just dont wanna be wasteful because this account is still good. I'll just have to suffer through it. I'll be fine as long as niggas dont start calling me BJ.

I wouldnt say sucked, but some of them did get a little boring. I skip Go after the first verse. Faithful was a 4.5/5, Testify should been WAY longer, shit was only like 2 minutes. I say the dullest songs beat wise are Go and Real People. Besides that, overall the production was stellar.
Baby Jeezy
Although I disagree with them, I've heard a lot of people on the street bigging this album up. You would think more of them would participate in the poll.

Come on people where yall at?

ain't been out long enough to be a classic a classic is a record that can stand the test of time and still be relevant and on top of that have good clean clear audio quality like tupac his shit is classic because it will always be revelant and his shit sounds great compared to a lot of hip hop that came out back then i mean a lot of these hip hop cats can't mix for shit and even though they can flow they records sound like absolute shit
ShortyWop
^ not all of Pac's shit is good, its above average, but not all of it is classic.

HA. I've never heard some one complain about how a major release sounds.
MIMI_05
4 mics. ithe production was hot but i needed common to be more hardcore and not so soft cool.gif
bonnie03
yeah. common's album is my shit. wink.gif
unheardvoice 327
wow. sorry a rapper went for the gusto and did more than the one obligatory love song. besides, it's not like he did them in the 50 cent cornball way. next time incorporate no human feelings at all common!
ShortyWop
the love thing was just getting on my nerves a little bit. Besides Go, the other two love songs were great.
unheardvoice 327
what was wrong with "go"?
ShortyWop
It got boring to me afterthe first vere. The chorus was cool, but it just didnt do nothing for me. Average at best, but it didnt fuck up the rest of the album. Each track flowed into the next one beautifully.

Straight up yall cats hating on the love aspect of his cd need to grow up and open your minds. The man is being himself, not some character on the street frontin'. I love that cd, its one of the best so far this year. The only thing that messed it up for me is Kanye west rappin and him on the chorus of Go. other than that, I can listen to this anytime yall.

First off I'm not hating. The difference is Kanye didn't have to participate in the rappin'. The Production is stellar and thats all he was there for. Hearing him on the Chorus of "Go" saying nothing is a waste, it could've been just instrumental and the track with them together on the Chapelle Show, eh I guess I'm not feeling his lyrics. Everytime he's on someones track its the same ol thing. Listen to every track hes been on as a guest and if you don't hear the same subject, style and flow please tell me.!!!

Be is an album with top notch production and lyrics and has some diversity I'd say its a classic. BJ since you wanna hate on it name some cds you think are classics

I think 'Be' is an excellant album. I voted 4.5 mics. There only a few elements, on a few songs I wasnt feelin. Im happy that Common has all this exposure now too, he deserves it. His debut album 'Can I Borrow a Doller?', people need to hear too. Its a dope old school record. It even has a song called 'Breaker 1, 9' whitch has the beat Biggie and Puff used to make 'Big Poppa'. Its weird hearing Common rap over the beat. The song he did with Canibus on 'One Day It Will Make Sense' was mind blowing. Also I feel the 'Like Water For Chocolate' is a much better album than 'Be'. That CD was Exec Prod by Questlove and even has a Primo beat on it. Nobody seems to be reconizing the fact that Common has been holdin it down for years.

no doubt but im sayin' simply the audio quality is top notch the recording is great it just sounds good there is no tape hiss no pops or ticks no shitty ass drum machines that sound like robots (cough cough early 90's east coast) except maybe his first record or two
