After re-releasing this fall the original colorway of LeBron James’ first signature shoe, Nike is back with more news on the coveted silhouette. Today, announcing the return of the Air Zoom sneakers in a black colorway, the Swoosh will pay tribute to The King’s 2003 rookie year.

Dropping this holiday season as a Nike Quickstrike release, this version of the Air Zoom Generation will be dubbed as the “King’s Rook” iteration. Dressed in a black premium leather upper, the sneakers feature hits of varsity crimson on the tongue, heel, outsole and the Swoosh branding. With white accents complementing the midsole and the Nike check on the side paneling system, the sneakers are finished with a glossy material on the heel end.

The Nike Air Zoom Generation was the first silhouette LeBron wore during his rookie season in the NBA. The sneaker design, inspired by the Hummer H2, was first released in a white and black colorway, and quickly became popular among other players in the league.

The Nike Air Zoom Generation King Rook silhouette will release on Sat., Dec. 23, at select Nike retailers and accounts. Look for the shoes to retail for a suggested price of $175.
