Last night, Compton rapper Kendrick Lamar went on Instagram to unveil an unreleased pair of Nike Cortez sneakers. Previewing a “Don’t Trip” iteration of the classic Nike shoe, Kung Fu Kenny gave sneakerheads a taste of what’s to possibly come in the near future from the Swoosh and the West Coast rapper's partnership.

Kendrick’s unreleased sneaker features a multi-colored canvas while maintaining the same low top aesthetic of the Cortez shoe. Featuring a gym red colorway on the side panels of the shoes, the sneakers also include a white hue on the toe front, tongue, midsole and Swoosh branding. In addition, Nike complements this Cortez with a black color on the midsole, shoe laces and the Don’t Trip branding, which goes across the entire tongue of the kicks. To round out the sneakers, Nike gives the shoes a personal Kung Fu Kenny touch with the inclusion of the Chinese lettering on the side panels.

After leaving the Reebok brand in summer of 2017, in August Kendrick announced his partnership with Nike. Posting on Twitter an image of himself wearing the Nike Cortez shoe, the hip-hop superstar left many wondering about a possible collaboration.

As of now, no release date has been announced for the shoes, but stay tuned with XXL for more developing news behind this unreleased Nike Kendrick silhouette.
