After re-releasing a number of popular Foamposite sneakers yesterday, Nike is back with more good news for Foamposite collectors. Today, the Swoosh announces the return of the classic Eggplant iteration after a seven year hiatus off the market.

First released in 2009, this metallic purple Foamposite became a fan favorite upon its release and sold out in a matter of minutes during its initial drop. The in-demand shoe was then released a year later, and again, the shoes flew off the shelves instantly —leaving many sneakerheads without a pair. Now, seven years after its last re-release, Nike will finally bring back the Foamposite shoe that's considered among many sneakerheads, as the best Foamposite colorway of all time.

Returning in its original form, the 2017 Eggplant Foamposite will feature a varsity purple colorway on upper of each shoe with hits of black on tongue, sock liner, heel and midsole. The outsole will remain the same as it will feature an icy translucent outsole mixed with black accents on the bottom.

The Nike Air Foamposite One Eggplant iteration will return to select Nike Basketball retailers on Sat., July 29, and will retail for a suggested price of $230.
