Last night, NBA superstar and Jordan Brand athlete, Russell Westbrook, was named the 2016-17 NBA regular season MVP. Beating out the likes of James Harden and Kawhi Leonard for the award, the Oklahoma City point guard won, in convincing fashion, the MVP trophy after averaging a triple-double the entire NBA season. To honor Russell for his stellar play all year long, last night Jordan Brand released a Player Exclusive shoe in limited quantities, paying homage to the newest MVP receiver.

Taking cues from the OKC Thunder uniform, Jordan Brand dresses the silhouette in a black upper with hits of royal blue and bright orange featured throughout the canvas. The pair of sneakers also features illustrated graphics highlighting Russell’s most memorable moments of the past NBA seasons. Westbrook's logo appears on the tongue of one of the shoes while Jordan Brand's signature Jumpman logo is featured on the side panels of each sneaker.

Along with the release of the limited edition shoes, the Jumpman debuted a new animated commercial titled “Why Not,” highlighting Russell's historic NBA season. In the commercial, hip-hop also makes a strong presence as Grammy-nominated rapper Phonte of Little Brother provides the vocals to the animated visual.

The limited edition Air Jordan 31 RW is now available for purchase exclusively on the Jordan Brand site for a suggested price of $185. Check out Russell's newest Jordan Brand commercial below.
