Last night (July 21), Jordan Brand announced its latest addition to the Air Jordan line by officially unveiling the next innovation in performance basketball footwear: the Air Jordan XXXI. While the much-anticipated silhouette has been surfacing around the web for a few weeks already, this is the first official look of the first colorway of the AJ XXXI, set to drop in the coming months.

The Air Jordan XXXI features a one-of-a-kind Flyweave and leather upper and incorporates a number of iconic Jordan elements. Reintroducing the original Air Jordan “Wings” logo and a subtle Swoosh— not seen on the sneaker collection since the Air Jordan I, it's the first time the accent has appeared alongside a Jumpman logo. Taking inspiration from the classic Air Jordan 1 Retro "Banned" sneaker, this pair of shoes includes the red and black colorways that compliment the canvas of the AJ1, featuring the word "Banned" written across the outsole of each sneaker, symbolizing the ban put on the Air Jordan 1 sneaker during Michael Jordan's early playing days in the NBA.

The Air Jordan XXXI "Banned" will be available globally starting Saturday, Sept. 3, in select retail stores and on Jordan.com. Stay tuned with XXL for more information on the Air Jordan XXXI.
