Baseball legend Ken Griffey Jr. may be retired, but when it comes to his Nike footwear line, the rollout of different iterations continues, and for the latest Griffey Jr. 1 silhouette, the Swoosh has decided to give the popular shoe a presidential makeover that ties in with the 20-year anniversary of the sneakers and the upcoming presidential elections in the U.S.

After rereleasing the original "Fresh Water" Nike Griffey Max 1 iteration back in April, the brand looks to capitalize off the success of the previous release with this presidential Griffey Jr. 1 sneaker. Dressed in a nubuck navy blue upper, the sneaker includes hits of red on the tongue, shoelaces, heel tab and the heel's KG logo. Clsoing out the sneakers overall look, is a white midsole followed by a gum bottom. The shoes are also inspired by the 1996 Nike campaign that featured baseball Hall of Fame player, Ken Griffey Jr. running as a presidential hopeful in the mid-'90s.

The red, white and blue inspired Nike Air Max Griffey Jr. 1 is set to drop at select Nike accounts nationwide on Tuesday, June 28, and will retail for a suggested price of $160.
