Wale's second sneaker collaboration that was set to drop later this year has now been canceled due to a legal dispute with a top-notch university.

Following the success of his collaborative Asics Gel Lyte III “Bottle Rocket” shoe, Wale took to Instagram back in August to announce that he was working on a second collaborative sneaker. After providing further information on the collab in early January 2016, Wale was seen a few weeks back sporting the intriguing shoe.

Teaming up with Saucony, the D.C. rapper and the running company, themed their collab after the popular track and field event in the U.S., dubbing the shoe as the Saucony Grid 9000 “Penn Relays.” Dressing the shoe in a red and navy upper, the sneaker featured gold accents with hits of white on the midsole.

While the shoe was set to tentatively release this year, it has now been canceled due to a legal dispute with Ivy League school University of Pennsylvania. Finding similarities in Wale's and Saucony's "S" logo, the University of Pennsylvania forced Villa to shelve the release of this anticipated sneaker.
